I agree totally. *blinks* Should I have warned you to sit down before
I said that?

I do believe Draco wanted asn alliance rather than true friendship
with Harry because I do not think Draco understands the concept of
true friendship. I doubt he has ever had a true frind who liked him
just for himself and not because he was a Malfoy in his entire life.
And for that if for no other reason I pity Draco.

He is getting to the age where he needs to make his own decisions as
an adult rather than following his father's lead. I fear that if he
does not break away from the path his father has set out for him then
he will end up in Azkaban or dead at a young age. Unfortunately such
a step would require him to break away from his family in much the
way that Sirius did. That is a decision which will be truly difficult
for him and since he lacks the support network that Sirius so clearly
had I do not think he will have the strength to do it. I feel that
deep down he is jealous of Harry. In as much as Harry envies Ron for
his large and loving family, Draco envies Harry for his loyal
friends, but he has never learnt that friendship is a two way street
and that to have such loyal friends you have to be capable of being
one.
