My response:

Well, I can kind of see where Molly's coming from, being a mom
myself! I certainly don't agree with her being so harsh on everyone,
of course. However, she certainly seems to feel powerless (reference
the boggart scene), so perhaps by exerting her own kind of power on
everyone, she feels less helpless. Sirius, IMHO, to Molly is
probably not much more than another kid in the house. Perhaps
because he spent the majority of his adult life stuck in Azkaban,
straight out of Hogwarts basically, and never had a real chance to
make a go out on his own as an adult, perhaps Molly simply sees him
as a great big adolescent? Therefore, he needs a scolding every now
and then (!)

I certainly do not believe that Sirius never grew up, per se (I don't
see how you can have a child's mentality and survive Azkaban), but to
Molly he's kind of the stray "puppy" (no pun intended!) in the
house. Even if it's HIS house! Molly's identity in the world is
as "Mom", so she tends to take care of everyone, nurture them, and
yes, give orders and boss them around.

Since Sirius needs "guidance" from Molly (in her mind), when he wants
to take any kind of initiative with Harry, she feels she must step in
and "supervise" the situation. I don't think it's necessarily Sirius
himself that's the problem - it may be Molly's way of having *some*
control over things in such a chaotic time.
