[HPforGrownups] Is DD spying through the Choc frog cards?

Someone raised this the other day, and whilst it makes sense, in book 5 Bill 
joked that DD asked not to be taken off the cards - this may be a subtle clue, 
but isnt it only paintings with minds of their own?  I mean, Colin has a 
photo of Harry but Harry doesnt see everything that Colin does when Colin has it 
with him or whatever.  The cards dont talk or anything so Im wondering how 
Dumbledore does do this if its the case with his cards.
