My big problem with Remus isn't that he forgot his potion.  It's 
that he didn't tell Dubledore about "Snuffles."  Remus believed that 
Sirius was a murderer and a threat to Harry.  Chosing not to tell so 
that Dumbledore wouldn't be disappointed in him was selfish and 
stupid.  Basically, Remus was risking Harry's life to keep 
Dumbledore from disliking him.
