Another good point.  However, for everyone having trouble with how 
Dumbledore can be Hedwig because of the time issues remember that 
Hedwig dissapears for long periods of time during the summers.  Also, 
since Dumbledore can apparate he could take the letters from Harry 
and just apparate to the place he needed to deliver them too 
(whenever he liked...thus saving time).  Hedwig tends to be MIA quite 
a bit.  This doesn't prove anything, but it does allow for the 
possibility.

Also, consider the following language from the books:

In OotP, Minerva said that Albus got the new and then quickly flew to 
the MoM (he could use a broom..but why not apparate)?

Dumbledore tells Hermoine once (can't remember which book) that he 
passed her delivery owl in the air.  An interesting thing to do.

Dumbledore wears half moon spectacles.  Not sure what this 
means...but moons...owls.
