I don't think the Slytherin girls are very well developed.  I can't 
remember Pansy doing anything besides hanging out with Draco, and 
laughting at the things he says or things that make the Gryffindors 
look bad.  The only other female Slytherin I can think of off-hand is 
Millicent Bullstrode, and the only thing I remember about her is the 
fight in the dueling club when Hermione picked up a hair from her 
cat.  Did you notice there are no girls on the Slytherin quidditch 
team?

Extrapolating to the adults, we know nothing about Narcissa Malfoy 
except her relationship to Sirius.  And the only female DE that I can 
think of is Bellatrix Lestrange.  This whole society seems to be very 
male oriented.  (I do apologize for not checking references - I'm 
away from home right now and don't have my books with me.)
