Lucila:

Good eye.  I didn't even remember this until you posted about it.  It 
maybe just humour, but, as you say, this is the sort of background 
information that JKR brings back around.  I wouldn't be surprised at 
all if this grew into something bigger (especially after she worked 
it into book five three time....that's alot for a background joke).
