Molly's pureblood. Harry's considered half-blood because his mother
was muggle-born. The Weasley children are pureblood.

Me -

Harry's not a half-blood. A half-blood is like Seamus one magical parent one
normal. He pay not be considered as pure as the Malfoys (by the snobs of the
world) but to my mind that's similar to the way that in the US you get (or
did - I've studied American history more than American present) families who
consider themselves to be 'old' families because they can trace their
ancestors back to the Mayflower.

Since the snobs seem to consider the weasleys to be pureblood (albeit
purebloods with nasty muggle loving views) then I would agree that Molly
must be a pureblood.

But whether she is or not she can't be lily's sister. Petunia is her last
relative - that's why Harry has to live with her because Lily's blood
provides protection. If Molly was an Evans then Harry could have lived with
them and had the same protection. I couldn't see the Weasleys turning baby
Harry away no matter how hard up they are and he could have grown up with
them without worrying too much about people's attitude towards
the-boy-who-lived. After all what better way to make sure he doesn't grow up
spoiled or prideful than giving him to a family where he'd have hoards
(alright 5) of older siblings just itching to put him in his place?
