This is by no means the first time I've seen someone speculate that 
Harry will lose his magic powers.  But why would this be?  I can 
certainly see that Harry may survive with losses and wounds.  I just 
don't see either the plot reason or the thematic point of him losing 
magic entirely.  Perhaps it wouldn't be worse than death, but it 
would make him miserable.

Any "Harry loses his powers" theorists care to explain?
