Annemehr again:
*What* is Harry going to do in the Muggle world without his powers?
Flip hamburgers? He hasn't even been to a Muggle school since he
was 10 years old. Nor can I see him taking Filch's old job. And I
still don't see why his magic should die; it's a part of who he
is. Losing his magic would just seem as arbitrary as, say, losing
his power of speech.

Now, if *Voldemort's* abilities should die from Harry (e.g., no more
parseltongue), that would make sense. Then Harry would be left the
wizard he was born to be (apart from any permanent injuries
sustained in battle).

By the way, it's funny how we on the list are taking this prophecy.
A suprising few of us seem to be thinking that either Voldemort or
Harry will be killed and the other live. There seem to be many more
of us who are sure we cannot take it at its face value: either Harry
will defeat Voldemort without killing him himself, or Harry's death
will result in Voldemort's destruction, or Harry will die and
someone else (read Neville) will finish Voldemort off. Naturally,
hardly any of us think Voldemort's going to survive!

wondering why are we up so late?
