Sneaking suspicion about Neville's parents...

that Bellatrix was caught after LV lost his powers and 
disappeared.-  

-Well it is still possible that she was caught after LV lost his 
powers if they went after Harry and Neville simultaneously. The 
Lestranges must have been torturing them for a long time and 
perhaps didn't realise that anything had happened to LV until 
later. -


<Second, the reason they went to the Longbottom's house was 
that they had heard the Longbottom's may know where LV could 
have been hiding and were trying to find him to return him to 
power.  Of course this is the story that Crouch Sr. believed what 
they were doing and Bellatrix didn't say that they were ordered to 
kill Neville.  They just remained quiet untill Bellatrix responded 
that LV would once again rise to power.  Nor was Neville ever 
mentioned to be around when the DE's came to the 
Longbottom's house.  What do you think?

-Yup, I think Crouch didn't know the whole story and since not 
many people knew about the prophecy in the first place they 
wouldn't have even questioned their reasons.

It is of course still possible that the Longbottoms were found and 
tortured by chance but I still don't think so. There are only so 
many things in the world that someone would be willing to keep 
secret and sacrifice themselves for. It seems most probable that 
they were hiding Neville and would have done anything to save 
him.

Dumbledore has kept many details secret and I wouldn't be 
surprised if this was something he kept secret as well.

Can't wait to see how this actually plays out in the books! Any 
wait is too long!
