I think the overall question of why 'you must not be seen' has to be
answered with multi-interpretations. Mostly because there are many
different reasons for not being seen at any given time- I mean, that
sometimes you are in danger of being seen by yourself and other times
you are in danger of being seen by others who possess authority over
you, sometimes you may appear to be changing time etc. So that there
can never be one ultimate answer to your question. Although, I'd say
that the biggest reason for not being seen has to be being seen by
you past self. As Harry pointed out- this could be fatal.

I'm glad that I could assist you. :D

You misinterpret me Bohcoo. I did not mean to sound rude at all.
Sorry that you interpreted it as so. My comment 'if you couldn't be
bothered to find it' was merely meant to introduce the quoted
material- as in 'here is what I said. I'm putting it here so that you
don't have to go searching for it.' I was just trying to seem less
conceited for quoting myself, as I find it extremely weird pointing
people to things I've already said as if I'm the authority on the
matter (which I'm not), and I was trying to conveinience you and
anyone else who read the post by having all the material there. Sorry
for any offence I caused you.
