My only tear-jerker *thus far* is when Harry is in Dumbledore's office after Sirius's death, smashing Dumbledore's possessions and screaming "I don't want to be human!"  I got the feeling that he really wanted to break down crying and fall into Dumbledore's arms.  But while he could have done this with Sirius, Dumbledore isn't his father-figure, just his headmaster and counselor, so he has to internalize.
