She goes along with Vernon completely, yet this is her chance to get Harry out of the house for ten months out of the year. <snip>
One answer might be that she figured while Harry lives with them,
they are protected also. Perhaps she knows about the Longbottoms? Is she afraid if the DEs who went free learn about the protection they would kill her (and Dudley) to remove this? That when Harry is at Hogwarts the wizards won't be paying as careful attention to the Dursley household? >>>

That PD is very conversant with the WW is evident from the start of the story.

UK ed PS page 34 ch 3 The Letters from No One:

VD "See" he explained to Aunt Petunia through a mouthful of nails, "if they can't deliver them they'll just give up."

PD I'm not sure that'll work, Vernon."

Petunia was well aware of the way of the Owl and I believe to a great extent the WW.

Also, if you were sending someone a crucial reminder and you hadn't contacted them for 14/15 years would you simply say, "Remember my last, Petunia". If matters had not been discussed relatively recently I would certainly be a bit more forthcoming.

IMO DD visited Petunia after the Tri Wizard Tournament and filled her in on the current situation. What this means in the greater scheme of things I do not know.
