Snape may very well think humiliation in childhood is normal. He was
humiliated at home and at school, pretty regularly it seems. He can't
give Harry any slack because he doesn't know how. He has a very very
hard exterior. Dumbledore seems to have broken through his shell but
even then, he's not all warm and fuzzy about Dumbledore. I am just
hoping he and Harry can come to some grudging understanding, a step
or two further than Snape and Sirius made it and I'd be amazed and
satisfied. But I can't let go of the idea that JKR is planning
something very pivotal between Harry and Snape. It would be a shame
to waste such a good hate they've had for each other.
