Love? I suppose that's the simple answer, but from my experience
when a loved one has just died love isn't the emotion I would feel
there. More like sorrow or grief. So what was it exactly that
made Voldemort leave? I know Dumbledore said it's because Harry was
filled with a force that Voldemort detests. And I am assuming that
the force is that which filled Harry's heart at the moment he thought
of Sirius, and Voldemort had to leave. But what was it? Emotion in
general? Or a specific emotion, like love or compassion?

I think it was a complex of emotions, love, overpowering desire, and
willingness to die in order to be with the person he most loved.
People will argue that Harry barely knew Sirius, in fact someone just
did. But that doesn't change his feelings for Sirius. We all have a
need to love and be loved. We don't have a built-in meter that
says "Okay, you've known that bloke long enough to love him." As
someone just said in another post, Harry's love for Sirius was
unconditional. The times they had been together were jam-packed with
meaning and feeling, at least before OOP. When Harry saw Sirius in
GOF, he could be sure Sirius was risking everything to be there. So
when Harry begged DD to kill "them" (when he was being possesed by
LV), it was because he cared more for Sirius and being with him than
he did for his life. That's what LV can't fight. He has never loved
anyone more than his own life.
