When the RoR had the Mirror in it, maybe it became that room because 
it's what Dumbledore needed, not necessarily what Harry required for 
hiding.  I've always wondered how D decided where to put the Mirror 
so that Harry would happen upon it.  If it were in the RoR, that 
would make sense, and be a better guarantee that H would find it 
(without looking for it).
