I don't know that Harry will actually travel behind the veil -
everyone seems to agree that once you do that, you are dead, but we
have seen him "commune" with the dead in past books, most notably
during the graveyard scene in GoF. DD tells Harry (or LV, can't
remember at the moment) that LV's failure to understand that there
are things worse than death are one of LV's greatest weaknesses. So
I think there is something for Harry to learn about death to help him
defeat LV.
