Katie should be a 7th year in OOP since it is made a big deal about
Harry being the youngest house player in a century, and that first
years never make the team. If she is in 6th year in OOP, and was on
the team prior to Harry joining, then she would have been on the team
in her first year. (unless I'm missing something here) I am currently
re-reading the series so SS is pretty fresh in my mind, although the
book isn't with me at the moment. Somewhere in there, during the
Slytherin/Gryffendor Quiditch match I think it is, Lee Jordan says
that either she or Alicia (don't recall which at the moment, wish I
did) was only a "reserve last year" which I thought was odd for a
couple of reasons as it was the first time I'd really "noticed" that
statement. Now I suppose you could be a reserve as a first year. (And
she could be a 6th year if was she he was talking about. If it was
Alicia then it isn't an issue since she is 7th year)
BUT, what was really strange was that later in SS Harry says he can't
skip the match that Snape was refereeing because there wasn't a
reserve seaker for the team and they wouldn't be able to play if he
weren't there. I don't recall reserves being mentioned at all in any
of the other books especially book 5 where they have problems with the
team and have to have replacements anyway.. is this in essence a
"flint"? Because I'd think we'd at least hear about the reserves
practicing with them or something... would they "suit up" and be
prepared if someone were injured in a match?
