I'm not saying that Harry could not pass the tests to become an
auror. I am saying that he does not, now, have the kind of
nasty, suspicious mind that it takes to do that sort of work
successfully. He is just too ready to take situations at face
value, and rush in with wand blazing. Perhaps he will develop an
appropriate level of paranoia in the future, but that seems
unlikely, given his personality.
Me:
I don't think that's a problem in the wizard world since this
situation is commonly encountered AND solved in our every day life (@work).
When I was fresh out of school I had some very naive and childish
opinions about how things where supposed to be done (I'm a software developer).
But, obviously the theories don't allways work, because in school you don't
have to take into account all the politics/ecnomical/personal problems/aspects
that a experienced developer must handle. It takes time, but you grow alot the
first weeks at the first work.
Also, I think I grew alot the second after I closed the door after my parents
when they left my first appartment for the first time. And when you receive your
first bill, something happens inside you that forces you to think about things in
a more "mature" way.
Just my thoughts!
