Hmm, I generally agree about Percy's character - well siad,
indeed "the importance addict" - but as for the plot...
I rather think that now that Voldemort is back and that *useless*
Fudge knows it's the truth, he (Fudge) will no longer need Percy and,
well, you can imagine what that would make Percy feel.
There can be two possibilities - either he will be kicked out of the
MoM *or* given a job he'll consider worthless (like his father's) and
so quit himself. He's not the kind of person who will easily admit
that he was wrong, say he's sorry and all... Feeling underestimated
he won't go back home, instead the next bridge that he'll burn will
be the Mom bridge and so the only thing left for him will be the LV
side. Sad but still very possible, I think. Feeling hopeless and
alone and not really knowing what to do with himself he will meet
some DE - at first probably not knowing who he is - and then he'll go
deeper into that *swamp* not to ever return. And will probably die in
the end.
It's a bit like the Regulus Black story - Sirius said his brother was
a DE, but not really knowing at first what he was really getting
into. And when he wanted to just back out - "Well, you don't just
hand in your resignation to Voldemort. It's a lifetime of service or
death." as Sirius (::sob:: was my favourite, favourite,
favourite ::sob::) said in OoP. Maybe the Regulus story was
introduced to give us an idea that not all of the DE were happy with
what they were doing, some had no idea what they were getting into --
> which will be sort of an intro for what Percy is going to do in the
next books.
What do you think?
