Me: (Lily F):
"Voldemort"="Rodent of Death"? er ... well I'm french and JKR's told in an
itw that "Voldemort" is a french word.
So in french the meaning of"Vol de mort " is "Flight of death" .
I've seen the same explanation on the Harry Potter lexicon so I suppose I'm
right.
In french "Vol" means "a theft"as well,but I don't think that "Voldemort
means "Theft of Death".
Actually a "Thief"= "Voleur" in french. So in french he could also be the
thief of death"
Do you think it could ? Voldemort could be "The One Who Steal The
Death/Life?"
It sounds strange, isn't it ?
I prefer the "Flight of Death" explanation.
