Also Harry just doesn't sleep at night. Remember he
dozed off during his History OWL and saw a vision of
Sirius being tortured, which I know was put in his
head by the Dark Lord. But if he's able to sleep
during the daytime, the Dark Lord could see his
thoughts then. And Harry can't walk around all day
with missing memories.
