Rum usually goes well with fruit juices, right?  LOL!  
I whole-heartedly agree that these are NOT children's books, but are 
books that adults AND children may share and enjoy.  There is enough 
complexity in the different characters (some more than others) and 
enough hints and clues that suggest plenty of intriging plot twists 
and turns, which is far better than a straight aimed plotline.  
(how's that for a run-on sentence! LOL!)  I love the fact that I can 
share these books with my son and they have given us HOURS of 
discussion material.  As a matter of fact I am his homeschool teacher 
and all the Harry Potter books have been required reading for him.  
There are so many life lessons in them...  everything from dealing 
with tragedy, victory, people's personality quirks, deception, 
prejudice, coming to resolutions to preseve friendships, and the fact 
that things do not always turn out OK but you just have to work your 
way through it anyway.  Also some lessons in how NOT to behave as 
well!
