Now me:

I had the same impressions that you did... and for some reason, I
still think it would be interesting to see JKR develop a Harry/Ginny
relationship. However, on my first read of OOP especially, I had the
impression that she was setting up a Harry/Hermione SHIP. I don't
have my book with me to give page numbers or quotes, but little
things like Harry grabbing Hermione's robes during the prophecy room
scene with the DE's and his reaction when she is hit with the spell.
Just subtle things like that, or maybe I'm just mistaking a really
close friendship for possible future SHIP.

I also think that if the Harry/Hermione SHIP or any SHIP involving
Harry does happen, it would almost have to pop out at him suddenly.
As much as I want Harry to find true love, I don't really see him
seeking it out after what he's found out from Dumbledore.

BTW, that's a nice story about you and your husband! I think the
best marriages usually have a friendship base to them - my husband
and I as well.

Anyway, that's my two knuts for now!

Jen (who still wonders if it really seems to take Sirius an age to
fall, why Harry couldn't have used "Accio Sirius" to save him? He
did have his wand out after all... just my wishful thinking!)
