OH! There are SO many similarities between Star Wars and HP it isn't even funny! I'm just waiting to hear "I am your father, Harry!" from Lord Thingy! I'm sure if you looked in the archives you will find many discussions on this very topic!

Hello again,
My friend, to whom I lent my copy of OoP, just finished it and called me
-tearfully - the interesting point it that she didn't knew if she was sad
because of Sirius or because the book was over :p
She pointed out something quite interesting as to Occlumency, and the
dialogue between Harry and Snape in their first lesson of that subject.
Being a Star Wars fan, she immediately traced it back to Yoda teaching Luke
how to close his mind off things, how to concentrate, and how important it
was to the Jedi power.
Surely Snape is nothing like Yoda, and Luke wasn't having bad dreams... but
the subject is somehow similar. Did anyone else think of that reference? I
m not sure yet if I accept it...
Cheers,
Julie
