[HPforGrownups] Why Sirius had to die

Hey Kristina,

I love the topic...it has been covered but not really
theories on why he had to die that I know of so yeah I
think this will be a good discussion.  

Anyways, while I think it has a lot to do with Remus
taking center stage I think the most important thing
was for Harry to start to think for himself.  

He went to Sirius for everything, and in my opinion
Sirius gave him decent advice (controversial I know
but I still think Sirius was a decent, loving
character) but now harry needs to start thinking for
himself.  

It's perhaps the hardest lesson in the world but one
day your parents aren't going to be around to help
you..Sirius' death is making Harry realize this for
the first time.
