You know, I kept reading that passage over and over again in OotP
searching for some kind of hidden meaning. Some deep symbolism (the
smashing of the "spider" attempting to draw Harry's blood with a
book about blood lines.) Still could be something to it. I'm just
too thick to reason it out.
Of course, you could be right (and probably are) about the book
providing valuable blood line information in the future. Most
likely JKR brought this book to our attention for a reason.
