I realized as soon as I posted, that someone is sure to mention 
Harry's sparing of Pettigrew in POA. I agree that Harry made the 
right moral choice there, but still as a child would.

He spares Peter because he figures his father wouldn't have wanted 
Sirius and Remus to become murderers avenging his and Lily's deaths. 
Harry knows the story that his father stopped Remus becoming a 
murderer even though the victim was Snape, someone whom they all 
hated.

He spared Pettigrew more for his S & R's sake than for the fact that 
P deserved an impartial trial and not just vengeance. Not that I'm 
downplaying what Harry did. It's still very mature for a 13 year old.

But like I said in my previous post, he's getting older and with 
Voldemort always threatening, he can't afford the luxury of maturing 
slowly. He has to begin making decisions based on right or wrong, not 
on emotions.

Once again, hope I'm explaining this well. I feel like I'm not quite 
getting what I mean across. Trying to hurry and trying to read as 
many of the posts as I can.
