Hogwarts is obviously still admitting halfbloods.  Isn't that like 
thowing away a quarter of Hogwarts?  Why not throw out Helga's 
philosophy?  Maybe the MoM decided that it was for the good of the

Not really.  Salazar agreed to have muggleborns admitted.  The same 
way Rowena agreeded to have non-brillliant students and Godric 
agreed to have students who haven't proved their bravery.  (In all 
cases al long as they didn't have to teach them.)

By admitting muggle-borns Hogwarts isn't doing anything Salazar 
himself didn't agree to (even if he didn't agree with it).
