Aberforth sounds like a placename - like Aberdeen or Aberfoyle in Scotland.
I have checked the Atlas but cant see anywhere called "Aberforth". Its seems
like another example JKR's wonderful ability to make up a name that sounds
totally genuine

Me --

There's a financial company based in Edinburgh called Aberforth Partners -
maybe JKR saw the name somewhere and it just stuck in her memory.

Someone mentioned that Aber generally means bridge (or something like that)
so maybe there is a place called Aberforth on the Firth of Forth?
