If Riddle had succeeded in returning, LV would have wanted to possess 
him, wipe out the returned-Riddle identify and keep that body as his 
own, while returned-Riddle would be wholly against that idea. They 
would fight. Each would believe he was in the right: LV: "You're 
just a memory from a book! I'm the real person!" TMR: "You're just a 
screw-up, can't even murder one little baby."
