Sorry. I know this is heresy, but....am I the only reader who does not like Sirius? I find him rude, dismissive, self-centered, petulant, egotistical and irresponsible. He lives in the past and seems to prefer Harry there too, as a James substitute. On more than one occasion goads Harry to be more like James, even though to do so could not only imperil the boy but does him a disservice for not seeing him as his own person. Some guardian!

AF, I agree with you. I liked Sirius at first, then started thinking about the Prank and didn't so much (even though I hate Snape), but OoP really kind of spoiled him for me- well, put the icing on the cake, more like. He was a jerk, and Molly was too with the Azkaban comment, but she didn't bother me as much. Maybe because we know Molly enough, and know that she does have the best interest of all her children (including Harry) at heart. I felt like Sirius was too concerned with having company- Harry- with him, and yes, trying to make him into James. Perhaps he was depressed, as people have said, but he didn't seem to be so much in GOF... and things are even more dangerous now, what with half the world not believing that LV is back, and most of the other half not knowing what to do about it.
On a completely separate note... I really wish there were 8 books in this series. Well, I probably wish there were more, but at least 8- I want to see the final climax happen outside of school. I'd like Harry, Ron and Hermione to be members of the order, to be more actively persuing and have the freedom to work against LV. I don't know if they can do this to my satisfaction while still in school, but as someone pointed out- and I thought the same thing- perhaps Fred and George's exit was meant to stick out the possibility that they (well, Harry and Ron, anyway) may not finish right now but become more actively engaged in the war.
