Hi! This is my first post so I hope this subject hasn't grown old
and that I'm not re-opening any old wounds by bringing it up. When I
read OoP the first time and got to the Occlumency lessons and the
part where HP asks Snape about his job for the order it kind of
threw me through a loop. I mean, of course the thought had come up
that Snape was a spy for Dumbledore(he actually says that Snape had
turned spy at great personal risk), but I didn't think that he could
possibly have gone back to that. Wouldn't the DE have known that he
was a snitch(Dumbledore even states that Snape is a spy at
Karkaroff's trial)and therefor not wanted him around, and not tell
him any thing? I also vaguely remember someone calling him Lucius's
Lap dog or something, so if he's a spy and the DE know why would
they tell him anything unless he's a spy for them or something?. Why
Lucius's Lap Dog? I guess I'm a little confused.
Okay, say Snape is a spy and the DE don't know about it (he is
awfully good at Occlumency!), then about the reuniting of the DE at
the end of GOF. LV addresses all the DE, gets to the gap and says
basically that of the six missing that 3 R dead, 1's his most
faithful servant, 1's a coward, and 1 left forever. Which 1 is
Snape? People keep saying that he's the last, but surely being a
*spy* he couldn't be. Plus, wouldn't the rest of the DE have killed
him by now, or at least stopped contacting him (i.e. Lucius's lap
dog)? Also, the DE would have been really angry w/ Karkaroff for
turning in all their lil' friends, geting off, and runing away? So,
maybe he's not the coward, but in fact the 1 who's left forever. Wow,
in trying to make sense of all this I think all I've done is confuse
myself even more! ROTFLMAO!!!<Gets off the floor, scratches head and
raises left eyebrow slightly>. "Night!"
