I agree, Sharon!

The theory that Neville has a memory charm has been discussed here
before, and many people here think it's true. Speculation is that
Neville saw the Lestranges torture his parents. Perhaps Neville was
later given a memory charm to protect him from the trauma of having
seen his parents' being tortured.  Or, perhaps Death Eaters put a
memory charm on him so that he couldn't tell what he had witnessed. 

There are a whole batch of acronyms that have been coined here to
describe various versions of the theory that Neville is under a memory

One of my very favorite posts here on HPfGU is Message 36772, "Still
Life With Memory Charm" by Elkins, on the topic of Neville's possible
memory charm. 

This is a good time to bring up this topic, because I think OoP has
given us some new hints about Neville's possible memory charm.  We saw
that Gilderoy Lockhart is starting to recover from his extreme memory
charm that made him forget his entire past.  This implies that memory
charms might eventually wear off.  In OoP, Neville is far more
confident and competent than in previous books.  Maybe his memory
charm is wearing off?
