(I have previously posted this on the HP Lexicon Forum)

One of the striking things about Voledmart's description is how
closely it resembles that of Nosferatu... the red, slitty esys..
the claw-like hands..

Voldemort might be one of the Undead. Tom Riddle might have chosen
this path of immortality...remember, he spent a lot of time
in Eastern Europe, home of the classical vampire..

There are a couple of clues..the hideous strength, the method of
coming back (with Harry's blood), the almost hypnotic hold
he has on his victims (the death eaters, who are also called the
knights of Walpurgis),..etc..

One clue in OOTP is that when Harry is possessed by Voldemort, he
feels '..knew he was dead'. If Voldemort is 'undead' this
is what Harry could be expected to feel.

If this theory is right..following through with this logic..

1. Voldemort is not alive..part of the prophecy is
fulfilled..However he can still do harm, even kill Harry and destroy
everything that is good.. This is also part of the traditional
Vampire role..This also tells us to treat all prophecies
with caution..(eg. the witch of Endor and the witches in MacBeth)

2. He can be destroyed in a couple of ways..sharp instrument to the
heart..ie.. sword of Gryfinndor, sunlight..etc..

I suspect the final showdown will be in Godric's Hollow, with Harry
weilding the sword and somehow time-turners involved
in making the sun rise early..

3. If Voldemort is undead then he is one of the few people who can
travel 'beyond the veil' without any harm..
the other obvious candidate for going 'beyond the veil' is Fawkes
who is born from the ashes every time he dies..
There is probably a scene coming up where Harry goes through the
veil, meets his parents and Sirius, and is brought
back by Fawkes..

4. It is clearly abundant that Voldemort, because of the various
enchantments he has undertaken, cannot be totally destroyed
forever..I think in the final scene when he is defeated by Harry and
co., he will probably turn revert back to the form
of Tom Riddle.. as a very young boy.. who will probably never age
but spend the rest of his life at St. Mungo's with
no memory of his past/future..with a scar

5. Wormtail will probably play the part of Redfern in Dracula and
the gollum in "Lord of the rings". He will unwittingly
bring about the fall of Voldemort, throught totally selfish actions..

6. Finally, JKR being the genius she is and with her highly
innovative imagination may make mincemeat of these theories and
totally surprise us
