it seems to me you are listing nearly everyone in Harry's life
(those he has a good rapport with anyway) as friends of his.
Harry has different kinds of relationships with all of these people,
but not all are *friendships*. Some are acquaintances, good
acquaintances, but acquaintances nonetheless. Which means, two
people can be friendly with each other and still not be friends.
<snip characters and description of relationships>
At the end of the day, Harry has the same amount of friends as Ron-
with the exceptiong of Ron's siblings. As far as Hermione is
concerned, the only friends she seems to have other than Harry, Ron
and Hagrid, are Ginny and Neville. >>>>

First, I consider Ginny, Neville, and Luna friends of
Harry's because they helped him try to save his
godfather. Their actions certainly qualify as
friendships. YOu wouldn't help someone to that extent
if you didn't care about them. As for Fred and GEorge,
Harry gave them his Tri-Wizard winnings. Would you
give that much money to someone who wasn't a friend? I
wouldn't. I see Sirius as adult friend/parental figure
and Remus as an adult friend. I've had friends that
were 20 years or more older than me that I sometimes
socialized with and cared about. I didn't think of
them as my parents. I did, in fact, mention Dumbledore
in the listing. But I still consider him Harry's
friend/mentor. And just because Seamus and Dean share
a bedroom and some classes with Harry, doesn't mean
they're friends. He never socializes with them. He
never shares personal information with them. If he
needed advice or someone to talk to, I guarantee he
wouldn't go to them. How do they qualify as friends?
Seamus doesn't even trust Harry all that much in OOPs.
And I believe Tonks and Mad Eye would help Harry
anytime he needed them. Cho's Harry's friend, not a
close friend, but still a friend. There are different
degrees of friendships. Some are at a deeper level,
where you can show your true self to the other person
without fear of judgement. Others are light and you're
only going to discuss superficial things. I think your
definition of friendship is too limited.
