Shot in the back

Hello all,

I will keep this short.

1) several references to being shot in the back.  Mundungus tried to 
shot Aurthur Weasley in the back.  Barty Crouch Jr. (as Madeye) 
detested it. Connection between these two?  

2) ****SPOILER**** rereading the end of OotP and I can't help but 
notice that it is sixteen years ago Dumbledore heard the prophecy and 
sixteen years ago that Snape came to teach at Hogwarts.  Both facts 
mentioned in the same book.  Is there connection?  Is the connection 
that Snape was the DE who heard the first part of the prophecy in the 
Hog's Head and told VD?  Maybe Snape was there to interview for a job?
