>Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs were all from different houses.
>Moony was Gryffindor. Wormtail was Hufflepuff, Padfoot was Slytherin,
>and Prongs was Ravenclaw.
It's an interesting idea (with Moony and Prongs reversed) and I
think it goes well with the idea of the union of the houses the
Sorting Hat was talking about.
> This was a beginning. Harry is the
>synthesis of all the houses. He is Slytherin, Ron is Ravenclaw,
>Hermione is Hufflepuff, and Neville is-SURPRISE!-Gryffindor. The
>whole point of the series is the coming together of the
>characteristics of the houses in the person of Harry Potter (with a
>little help from his friends).
Here again I think Ron and Hermione are reversed. I believe the
point is that people with different characteristics can be friend,
and I think that it's their friendship that it's important, and
not only the person of Harry Potter. And instead of him being the
synthesis, he is the catalyst who make this happen. He is someone
liked by people of the other houses; perhaps in the next books, he
will win over the Slytherins too to (re)unite Hogwarts on the face
of danger.
