Hey, resident lurker here who popped her head above the trenches to
say that there could quite possibly be something to this theory. The
only problem being that it's the wrong henchman :-) In PS/SS during
one of the many confrontations between Harry/Ron and Malfoy et al
Scabber's goes for Goyle and sinks his teeth into him, not letting
go until he is flung agaisnt the train window. Being on the
same 'side' you would wonder why Pettigrew would do this unless
there was something more to Crabbe and or Goyle that we don't yet
know? Just with Fred mentioning this it made more sense as to why
Scabber's would attack a fellow Voldemort supporter (through family,
anyway). Can anyone cite any other occasions like this? Maybe their
is hope for the terrible two, after all!

In addition, I thought that another possibility for the 'non-
cuttable' scene could be Harry talking to the Sorting Hat? It is
understandable that Steve Kloves would not think it terribly
important to the plot as Dumbledore's speech deals with Harry's
fears about his Slytherin tendencies and his connection with
Voldemort; perhaps it was needed to reaffirm the whole 'it's our
choices' angle of the story? Maybe the decisions of the Sorting Hat
and the influence of the will of the person being sorted will be
further revealed. Or am I waffling? ;-)
