Me:
You know I had wondered about it and I think it may
have to do with occlumency. As Snape always knows that
people are up to something; more than once Harry said
he felt like Snape can read minds; maybe Dumbledore
can sense them.
Or in all the occasions where DD somehow knew where
they were, it was always situations where it can be
understood that the trio is in that room. For example,
in CoS, the night of Hagrid's arrest, knowing the trio
it can be guessed that they would visit Hagrid. Also
knowing Hagrid, extra tension on his part would arouse
suspicions. Finally since Hagrid has a small home
there can't be too many places where three kids can
stand out of the way. Therefore a glance at a guessed
point at a guessed hight would seem like an ability
see through invisibility cloaks.
However, I would put my money in Occlumency because in
SS the movie, Snape senses Harry under the
invisibility cloak. Since we already know the two men
are the only occluments in the school, maybe DD's
ability can be explained by that.
