It has been noticed and commented on. My take is that it's a case of
JKR wanting to blur the lines between good and bad, another instance
being what Hermione came up with to call DA meetings, the coins that
start to get hot when a meeting is on and that Harry noticed are
similar to how the Dark Mark works on Death Eaters.
