ME - I thought the Knockturn Alley scene could well be a hint 
regarding Hagrid (Flesh-eating Slug Repellant because the slugs were 
eating the School cabbages? Why would flesh-eating slugs eat 
cabbages, and when have we ever seen cabbage on the school menu? 
You'd think Hermione, at least, would have had some).
The crossbow, I thought, was to do with Hagrid's fear of being taken 
off to Azkaban again. He obviously wouldn't threaten Dumbledore with 
it, but if others came to get him, I suspect they wouldn't have taken 
him easily.
