What has never been brought up, at least I don't think it has, is why
didn't Snape tell Harry how to close his mind, defend his mind, or
clear his thoughts in the beginning of the lessons rather than just
jumping into things (Harry's mind? Remember Snape always put his
thoughts in a pensieve before they started, so this task must be hard
even for someone who has experience doing it. Seems to me that Snape
didn't care if Harry succeeded at closing his mind.
