Sorry to invade here on what almost looks like a private thought, 
but I just wanted to add to your theory, (iydm) In SS, when Harry 
visits Mr Olivander, he was told that his mom's wand was great for 
charm work (love work (IMO)) and that James' wand was good for 
transfiguration but also mentioned that it was very pliable? I 
wonder if maybe the two wands of James' and Lily's are a hint or a 
look into the past of these two. Charm Work and transfiguration?
