Trelawney was in a "trance state" according to Harry, when she made 
her prediction in POA, and since Trelawney said both predictions in a 
different voice, with no awareness of her words, it seems likely she 
was "channeling" the predictions from another source. 

Also, re: Trelawney, does anyone else think Dumbledore was so 
insistent on keeping her at Hogwarts after her "sacking" b/c he 
didn't want anyone having access to her and her predictions? Anyone 
who had seen the prophecy orb would have seen the initials and could 
deduce it was Trelawney giving the prediction to Dumbledore.
