I pronounce "Wizengamot" -- and don't ask me why, because I couldn't tell you --
"WIE-ZEN-GAH-MUTT." Emphasis nearly equally on all four syllables, with a little
extra stress on the first and third.
Here's another question, btw: How do people pronounce "Legilimency?" I'm
pronouncing it:
"LEH-ji-li-MEHN-cy." The second and third syllables are hardly stressed at all, and
said -- compared to, especially, the first and fourth -- more quickly. Pronunciation
slows down a tad on the fourth, which may be stressed just a bit more than the first.
But my dad is saying "leh-JILL-i-MEN-cy." The stronger of the two stresses is on the
second syllable.
I keep wanting to correct him. Well, "correct" him, since for all I know, I'm wrong and
he's right -- it's just that I *do* think it sounds better my way. It's kind of getting on
my nerves.
<looks around>
You think I'm what? You think I'm *picky?*
