Well, I think you're both wrong, actually. "Legilimency" as the 
ability to "read" minds will probably be from the Latin verb "legere" 
which means "to read" and you pronunce the "G" in it not like 
in "FudGe" but rather as in "AnimaGus". And as in your pronunciations 
you both have a syllabe "JILL" (GIL) - you're both wrong:)
