Lady Macbeth:
Quite sure. ~_^
Regulus, aka Cor Leonis, Kalb or Alpha Leonis, is the prominent star of the
constellation Leo (The Lion) - it's name means "prince" or "heart of the
lion".
Sirius, aka Alpha Canis Majoris, is the prominent star of the constellation
Canis Major (The Great Dog) - it's name means "scorching".
Bellatrix, aka Gamma Orion, is the west shoulder of the constellation Orion
(The Hunter) - it's name means "warrioress".
The two obvious constellations that give their names to characters are more
well-known to people:
Draco, aka Draconis (The Dragon)
Andromeda, aka Andromedae (The daughter of Cassiopeia)
It's entirely possible that JK chose the names she did simply because of
their prominence in sky charts - Regulus, Sirius and Bellatrix are all
easily visible and prominent sky markers, and Draco and Andromeda have been
prominent constellations that are easily spotted by most schoolchildren.
However, it IS interesting to see how their names match up with the
characters she assigned them to, and debate just HOW MUCH research she put
into these characters. ;)
