me: But somewhere in the move (can't remember when but I think it's
during Christmas), you see Nearly Headless Nick saying hello to Percy
in the halls, and he's with a girl. I always assumed that was the
girlfriend. The scene in the dungeon is when Harry and Ron (AKA Crabb
and Goyle) are trying to find their way to Slytherin's common room.
Malfoy shows up and unknowingly helps them find their way. Percy was
roaming the halls because all prefects were on duty to protect the
students. Although, you could argue that he should have been closer
to his own quarters, the scene seemed to be more about getting into
the common room, and the problem of not knowing how to do it. IN the
books, the issue is very neatly wrapped up in the end when Ginny
explains about the girlfriend, and that was book two. If it were a
big deal, you'd think some reference would have been made to it in
books 3-5. Maybe not, just my opinion.
